My First Cover From Argentina

This cover was sent on the 4th of October. Thank you very much Agustín for this nice cover from Argentina! This cover was considered as a lost one but it finally reached its destination after much time. The souvenir sheet depicts Galileo Galilei (1564 - 1642). It illustrates a Constellation of The Southern Cross. Galileo Galilei was an Italian physicist, mathematician, astronomer and philosopher who played a major role in the Scientific Revolution.

His achievements include improvements to the telescope and consequent astronomical observations, and support for Copernicanism. Galileo has been called the "father of modern observational astronomy", the "father of modern physics", the "father of science", and "the Father of Modern Science".

A constellation, in astronomy, is a grouping conventional of stars , whose position in the night sky is apparently so rough that the astronomers of civilizations old decided to link them with imaginary lines, creating silhouettes on the celestial sphere .
